How to deactivate Instagram account 2023



Instagram is a popular social media platform that allows users to share their photos and videos with their followers. However, there may be times when you want to take a break from the app or deactivate your account altogether. If you're looking to deactivate your account, here are the steps you can follow:

  1. Log in to your Instagram account using your username and password.

  2. Once you're logged in, go to your profile page by clicking on your profile picture.

  3. Click on the three-line menu button in the top right-hand corner of the screen to open the Instagram menu.

  4. Then options click on "Settings." which is the first option on the list 

  5. In the Settings menu, scroll down until you see the "Security" option and click on it.
  6. Select "Deactivate Your Account" from the list of options.
  7. Choose a reason for deactivating your account from the list of options provided.
  8. Instagram will ask you to re-enter your password to confirm that you want to deactivate your account. Enter your password and click on the "Deactivate" button.
  9. Confirm that you want to deactivate your account by clicking on the "Yes" button.
  10. Your account will be temporarily disabled, and your profile, photos, comments, and likes will be hidden from other users until you reactivate your account.

It's important to note that deactivating your Instagram account is not the same as deleting it. You can reactivate your account at any time by logging back in.
